I'm also a big advocate of back on track products supplied by T & W Healthcare Products Limited. They provide a huge range of items for both horses and dogs (and humans!), from rugs and coats to more specific items like boots and joint supports. All the items are produced using the unique Welltex ceramic infused material which reflects the wearer's body heat as FAR infrared energy. This is a proven therapy which penetrates the skin and warms the muscles and connective tissues. It not only reduces the risk of strains or injury, but can also promote healing and recovery from injury, decreasing discomfort, increasing circulation and reducing swelling and inflammation. This means products can help with conditions ranging from joint/soft tissue injury through to degenerative conditions, such as arthritis, as well as helping to maintain general health and comfort.

Alongside manual techniques, including massage, joint mobilisation and stretching, I also use phototherapy, therapeutic ultrasound and pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF).  I can also now offer kinesiology taping for my equine clients which can help a number of situations.

All of these modalities can be integrated into sessions when appropriate to help me treat a range of issues from open wounds, fractures, hematomas, muscle spasms, muscle/tendon/ligament damage and degenerative conditions such as osteoarthritis.

As a physiotherapist my aim will be to ensure your animal is in the best condition possible for the job it has to do. Whether this is an event horse, a happy hacker, a working gun dog or the family pet, I will assess and treat the animal as a whole. I can assist through rehabilitation programs post injury, I can help with wound care, and I can also work with non-veterinary cases to ensure the animals are able to perform to the best of their abillity by optimising their health, strength.and mobility.

All my work must be done under vet referral regardless of the reason for making an appointment. This is a simple process though which I can do for you.

I am fully insured and also a registered member of the International Association of Animal Therapists (IAAT).
